Non-Chinese-Speaking Student Service-Learning Experience Day ‘Good morning Kam Tin!’

‘Good morning! What do you usually like to do? What do you like about Kam Tin? Thank you for accepting the interview!’

Saying good morning to strangers and asking a simple question may seem easy... However, for non-Chinese speaking students, each of these requires learning and tremendous courage!

Last Saturday, our school, together with HKU SPACE and Kam Tin Cultural Hub, organised the ‘Good Morning Kam Tin’ event. Through interviewing community members, students were able to apply what they have learned in real-life situations, greatly enhancing their speaking abilities and self-confidence. In addition, students collaborated with local residents to complete a Kam Tin community chessboard and tried playing chess together. We would like to express our gratitude to the Kam Tin Cultural Hub for providing the venue, allowing our non-Chinese speaking students to interact with the Kam Tin community and promote community integration.
