23.01.2024

It’s the second day of STEM Week. Today, it’s the turn of P.1, P.2, P.4 and P.6 students to have the outings, and explore the sub-topics of ‘Behind the Festivals’, ‘Surrounded by Water Paper’, ‘The Water Quality in Hong Kong’ and ‘Renewable Energy’ respectively:

P1  Green@Yuen Long Hui

Students will visit recycling convenience points under the Environmental Protection Department to learn about the types of waste we generate in our daily lives. It is hoped that students will reflect on how to turn these household waste into valuable resources after the visit.
P2  Visitor Centre, EcoPark

By visiting the EcoPark, students will learn about different methods of waste treatment and contemplate on how to use recycled paper to create creative products.

P4 Green@Yuen Long

Through a visit to a community recycling station in Tin Shui Wai, students will understand the impact of waste generated by citizens in their daily lives on the environment. It is expected that students will be inspired to explore how to use household waste to create water filters, promoting both waste recycling and water conservation.

P6 Education Path, the Electrical and Mechanical Services (EMSD) Headquarters

Students will explore educational trails and outdoor viewing platforms to understand the concept of green building technology, with the hope of gaining inspiration and collaborating with peers to create smart homes.
