Child labour experiential activity – The Firecracker Factory
27.09.2023

Have you ever thought that while we enjoy our lives to the fullest, in some parts of the world, there are many children working day and night? These children, because of poverty, are forced into child labour and endure a life without hope.

Our school, in collaboration with World Vision, is organising the ‘School Famine’ activity which students get to experience how a child labour works in a ‘Firecracker Factory’. At the same time, we are inviting students to take part in an experiential ‘Light Meal’ activity, which they will forgo their usual meal and have a simple lunch with two slices of bread. This allows students to gain a better understanding of the child labour issue and the connection to poverty and hunger. We aim to encourage students to cherish food and take action to care for the impoverished children.
