Cultivating the Mind, Reaping Gratitude
‘Hoeing the crops in the midday sun,
Sweat drips to the soil.’
Food is not easily obtained; behind it lies the tireless labour of countless individuals. Earlier, P2 students of Mung Yeung worked together in the small garden plot, planting cucumber seedlings. Each student deeply experienced the joy and responsibility of tending to plants.
Under their teachers' guidance, the students learnt how to water and fertilise the plants, observing their growth process. Each weeding session and every drop of sweat became a mark of their own development.
‘Who knows that of our meal in the dish,
Every grain comes after hard toil?
Through this activity, the children not only deepened their understanding of plants but also cultivated a heart of gratitude. We look forward to these tender cucumber seedlings thriving and bringing the joy of a bountiful harvest to both teachers and pupils!
