Little Career Explorers: P5 Parent-Child Career Planning Activity

Earlier, P5 students and their parents embarked on a ‘Career Exploration Journey’ together! 

Mums and dads first attended a workshop to learn about the nature and requirements of six different professions – it turns out that behind every industry lies different skills and secrets to discover. 

Meanwhile, the students transformed into ‘trainees’, with their parents acting as supervisors to assess their ‘performance’ one by one.

‘So being a doctor requires such attention to detail!’ “Salespeople need to be really good with numbers!” The children had these epiphanies as they went through the experience.

Through this parent-child role reversal, the students not only gained a better understanding of themselves but also began to think about what they want to be in the future. Career planning starts now, by planting a seed of curiosity
