Chinese Day and Animal Idioms Gala
‘An elephant is just like a rope!’ said Passers-by A.
‘An elephant is just like a pillar!’ said Passers-by B.
‘How could that be? An elephant is just like a fan!’ said Passers-by C.
Can you guess which idiom story the pupils are acting out? (The answer is at the bottom of the post!)
On the eve of the holidays, the school held the Chinese Day and Animal Idioms Gala, with each class transforming into young actors to bring classic stories to life on stage! Some pupils played the fox in ‘The Fox Borrowing the Tiger’s Might’, looking full of himself; others played the farmer in ‘Waiting by the Stump for a Hare’, lazily waiting for a hare until his crops had withered away!
The audience responded with constant applause and laughter. Not only did the pupils throw themselves into their performances, but they also learnt the wisdom behind the idioms!
